Monitoring Older Students
Older students may not respond to visual
charts. Some older students respond to self-monitoring or self-rating
approaches where they are required to reflect upon their interactions
at school.
Directions
for using the Self-Monitoring Intervention with older students
Older students still require specific expectations, explanations
of the goals and purposes of using the appropriate behaviors, and
reminders about the appropriate behaviors. The information gathered
from self-rating scales can be presented in a graph form to the
student. This can provide the visual demonstration of their progress
and entice the older student to participate in the process.
