Installing Java for Desktop MAS
The Desktop version of Make A Schedule requires Sun's Java Runtime
Environment installed on your computer. Following are step by step instructions
outlining the online, automatic installation process available from Sun's site.
You may instead choose to download the Java installation file from Sun's site
and manually install the Java Runtime Envrionment yourself, which is equally
easy. Both options are available from this web page on Sun's site: http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp

Once you open the above URL in your browser, look for and click on the
"Download" button to initiate the install process.
This Security Warning window will appear verifying that Sun is the source of
the Java software you are about to install. This will install Sun's Java Plug-in
to enable running Java programs in your browser. If you trust that installing
the Java software will do no harm to your system, click the Yes button. Otherwise
you can cancel installation and use the online version of MAS.

A dialog showing the estimated time remaining to complete the download will
appear.

This time the Security Warning dialog is asking for your permission to install
the Java Runtime Environment on your system which will enable you to run Java
programs on your computer (as opposed to running them in the browser). Again,
if you trust Sun, click the Yes button to run Desktop MAS on your computer.

The install process begins...

...and continues.

You must agree to the tems of the license agreement to continue installation.

We recommend the Typical installation option.

The install program begins copying necessary files.

Installation continues.

Java has been successfully installed. Click Finish button.

If all went well you will see this congratulatory message displayed on the download
page on Sun's site.
