Rules of Crazy 8s Card Game

Rules of Crazy 8s Card Game

The aim of the game is to get rid of all the cards in your hand before anyone else.

  1. The player left of the dealer will start first, and the game will go clockwise.
  2. The player can play a card that’s the same number or the same suit as the starter card. For example, if the starter card is a 5 of spades, the player can put down either a 5 of any suit or just a spades card.
  3. 8s are considered “wild cards” and can be placed at any time, regardless of the number or suit before it.
  4. The next player must put down either the same number or the same suit as the card the first player put down.
  5. If a player does not have the same number and the same suit as the card in the pile, then they must take a card from the draw pile until they receive the appropriate card to play, regardless of how many cards they end up pulling. They have to keep all drawn cards in their hands.
  6. If the draw pile runs out, then the dealer needs to take all the cards in the starter (except the top), shuffle them, and then make that deck the new draw pile.
  7. The game continues as all players attempt to get rid of their cards. The player who gets rid of their cards first will win the game.
